she is glorious
a herald of the ancient wisdom
come to cleanse me of the anger of my ignorance
she washes away the shadows in light
holding a mirror to my darkness
reflecting the truth of who am
in my own eyes
she does so with her subtlety
her glance
billowing smoke
her supple form
clouds raining upon snakes of song
the merriment of disaster
she says
comes from surviving
with freedom intact
“never let your fear
hypnotize you
into shackles,”
is what she would say
if she were not so busy
listening to the music
and beating on her drum
love never hurts she sings
