I laugh with joy
as I am startled

an illuminated
shadow
eyes wide
and inquisitive
acquiring wisdom
…requiring wit
inspiring poetry
simply by desiring it
you dance to a song
and so it is therefore written
in your arms, I belong
and so I am smitten
as a lion, I was strong
till you became my kitten
and so no more do I roar
cuz I’ve learned to listen
your snarl or your giggle
rends me asunder
you make my spine wiggle
as tho startled by thunder
your touch tickles my mind
as I wallow in wonder
I follow a trail that trickles
I am a sensitive hunter
I watch you watch those willing
to make themselves a show
and it’s almost chilling
how instinctively you know
the warm thoughts milling about
till they succinctly grow
from a seed
to a tree
with an upward flow
the leaves
expand
and explode
into all colors
of the rainbow
and I watch as they flutter
from high in the sky
then land and lie down below
to be carelessly crinkled upon
by your elegant toes
it is your love of music
that is a lullaby to me
and tho I am sometimes confused
by the subtleties that I see
when I close my eyes
you seem imaginary
and when I open them slowly
fantasy finds form in reality
you replace my every memory
mesmerizing me
it’s a story of glory
galvanized by glee
the more the adoring I deliver
the more I receive
and so our transaction
will not be complete
till I acquire all I desire
