gestures of kindness
are genuinely quiet
like listening
sometimes silence
is all that’s required
if missing
trust must be conveyed
with confidence
and no convincing
because demanding closeness
results
in distancing
faith is a feeling
never conferrable
with words
it would be as though
explaining the glory of flight
to birds
just as talking
about water
will not
quench thirst
and thinking about it
just makes it
worse
to understand love
you must feel it
first
and then decide for yourself
what it’s worth
if you believe it
a blessing
