As i touch the sun
to the tip of my finger
I’m reminded of a thousand fires
burning millions of leaves
across countless forests
in the autumn of your eyes
Cinder the planet
with the tongue flame
that dances on the pain
of your feigned good bye
and turn to me again
quietly, smiling in silence
Let me see the truth
scrawled across your skin
scribed in sweat
a pen that laughs at death
god(ess) never lies,
when (s)he scribes poetry
etched into the mixture
as he kneads our DNA
into an eternity of children
to bear our truth
I love you
