one day
i will rise
from the ashes
of the devastation
wrought upon the goodness of my heart
once day
saving you
will stop destroying me
one day
i will be myself again
despite losing myself totally
to your desperate tears
one day
i will be free
of the true pain caused
by the falsehood of your lies
hippocrates everywhere
begging for mercy
pretending to be friends
waiting to take
waiting to break
open mouths
vomitting promises
making room in their bellies
to devour you
save them from pain they beg
save them from the agony they plead
the horrors they bring upon themselves
they thrust upon you
they know no mercy
except the pity they extract
from those they trick
with tears
they beg and beg and beg
and eventually
they find the chink in the armor of your own self preservation
promising friendship
promising love
promising loyalty
till you stick out your neck
risking the danger of the earth
and they slice it themselves
there is no one sicker
then those who beg
there is no one more grotesque
then those who plead
there is no one more curropt
then those consumed
with their own entitlement
there are those
who dig holes
and fill them with insects
and wallow in the filth of pain
waiting for you to lend a hand
so they can pull you in
to take their place
they call themselves friends
and they are the end
of the true
